Container Area for 2017
Prefectural land adjacent to Port of Shonan (cf. Figure 1) can be used as container area. Only sailing teams can use this container area.
Location: 1-11-1, Enoshima, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture 251-0036 (For carrying in containers, use the entrance by the yacht house.)
For usage, please note the following.
The area is available for the period from July 1 to October 31, 2017. (Make sure to take out your containers by the end of October, as paving work is scheduled for November.)
The containers placed for this period should not be used as a storage or workshop people often go in and out. You can carry in or out your goods only when you bring in or take out the container. According to Japanese Law, if containers are used as a warehouse or living space, they are regarded as “buildings”, which are required to meet a certain safety standard. Specifically, foundation should be installed and the containers should be bound to it. However, this foundation work is not allowed in this area in 2017. If it is found out that you use it as a storage, etc., you may be required to remove it.
The surface of the land is covered with crushed stones sprayed with asphalt emulsifier (cf. Figure 2). Please take necessary measures to prevent deflection, etc. of the container (ex. putting a wooden block between the ground and container).
Maximum number of containers per country is two.(The overall capacity of the site is 30 containers.)
The detailed layout of each country’s container will be informed when fixed.
Electricity is not available.
Though the area is fenced, no security guard will be patrolling. Please take security measures by yourselves, including theft countermeasures.
Reservation will be accepted between March 27, and April 27, 2017. Send an e-mail to the below address with the following information. - Number of containers (1 to 2 per country) - Size of containers (Ex. 40ft high cube, etc.) - Requested period of storage (on a monthly basis)
